Old Trafford undergoes another Sunday: Bournemouth humillated Manchester United 3-0
The English team extended its winless streak to eight matches and remains dangerously close to relegation. Lisandro Martínez entered at 65 minutes and was exposed on Bournemouth's third goal, while Bruno Fernandes never made it onto the field.

There are Sunday nights that feel like an alarm bell. Manchester United lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford and extended its winless streak to eight consecutive matches across all competitions. The last stretch of results this bad dates back to the 2015-2016 season. Let us be honest: the situation is getting dangerously close to a crisis.
Three goals, one painful sequence
Bournemouth scored through three Brazilian players. Rayan opened the account at 38 minutes. Marcus Tavernier doubled the advantage at 42 after a turnover on Yoro's right side. Evanilson completed the rout at 71 with a shot that went over goalkeeper Lammens following a deep pass from Lewis Cook.
That third goal also exposed a defensive communication problem. Lammens, Lisandro Martínez and Harry Maguire failed to coordinate properly, and the ball ended up in the net. Martínez, an Argentine defender, had entered at 65 minutes in place of Ayden Heaven. He could not change the match, and Bournemouth took advantage of the confusion.
The figures are not subtle. United is now sixteenth in the Premier League, with only one point separating it from the relegation zone. The next opponents are Chelsea, Aston Villa and Liverpool. That is not a forgiving schedule, to put it gently.
“Sometimes you have to be braver under pressure, take the risk of pressing high and make them uncomfortable.”Bruno Fernandes
Fernandes, the team's habitual captain, was never called on. Four days earlier, he had questioned Michael Carrick's tactical decisions after the 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League. On Saturday, the coach described the team selection as a purely sporting decision and said the squad is seeking the performance they want.
The old Trafford stands saw another defeat and, for the fans, a particularly uncomfortable one. The team went eight matches without a win, with five defeats in that run. It is a stretch that requires going back to the 2015-2016 season to find a comparison.
Liverpool also won
In another Sunday match, Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 with Alexis Mac Allister starting and playing the full 90 minutes. Pascal Gross scored an own goal in the 17th minute, and Alexander Isak added the second at 21. The Swedish striker has now scored six goals in seven appearances this season.
- Bournemouth won 3-0 at Old Trafford.
- Manchester United has gone eight matches without winning.
- Rayan, Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson scored the goals.
- Lisandro Martínez entered at 65 minutes and was involved in the defensive confusion that led to the third goal.
- Bruno Fernandes remained on the bench.
- United is sixteenth, one point above the relegation zone.
- The next opponents are Chelsea, Aston Villa and Liverpool.
Can United recover before the calendar makes the position even more complicated? The next test comes against Chelsea. After that, Aston Villa and Liverpool. Old Trafford will be waiting, although the stands may demand answers before the next kick-off.
